“Every crisis, actual or impending, needs to be viewed as an opportunity to bring about profound changes in our society. Going beyond protest organizing, visionary organizing begins by creating images and stories of the future that help us imagine and create alternatives to the existing system.” ― Grace Lee Boggs
We’re holding our collective grief, fear, and anger. We’re also holding our commitment to speak out, take bold action, and defend our people from what is coming. It’s time to get to work.
Let this moment bring us clarity: Elections and this political system will not set us free. Solidarity will set us free. May our community be a balm and a beacon of light during these dark and challenging times.
Solidarity Is Our Strategy
We knew that, regardless of who won, the core of this settler colonial state is a brutal capitalism and imperialism that brings us death, an accelerating climate crisis, and empty promises of rights and democracy.
This is a long fight for us as Asian Americans. Throughout history, many of us have had no choice but to struggle for liberation beyond elections. From Muslim travel bans to mobs burning down Chinatowns, from multiracial labor strikes to envisioning safety beyond policing – we know how to survive and resist oppression.
In 2025, 18MR will still fight for an arms embargo and an end to the U.S. death machine. We will forge new movement partnerships and continue building coalitions against emerging attacks on our humanity.
Our commitment is to mobilize Asian Americans and co-conspirators around the issues that are critical to our survival. We’ll use art and culture and the power of the internet to nourish us and inspire action on grassroots campaigns that reshape our world. Join us as we grow a political home rooted in justice, abolition, and our lineages of Asian radical solidarity.
Stay tuned for new trainings, offerings, and events to connect and build our Asian American movement.
