South Asian Left (SALAM) has launched a campaign to demand New York Road Runners (NYRR) and the New York City Marathon to drop Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as a sponsor. Tata is deeply complicit in Israel’s genocidal occupation of Palestine. They deal by the hundreds of billions in technology, media, weapons and other industries, actively funding the genocide and settler colonial Israel apartheid project against Palestinians, and now ground invasion of Lebanon.

Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL), a key player in India’s defense industry, collaborates with Israeli firms like Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to supply missile systems, radars, and electronic warfare technologies integral to Israel's military operations in occupied Palestinian territories. Tata Motors supplies armored vehicles, used by Israeli forces to patrol and suppress Palestinian communities, including during military assaults on Gaza.

Through its participation in Project Nimbus, TCS supplies cloud computing and digital transformation services to the Israeli government and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). These services are crucial for maintaining Israel’s surveillance and control over occupied Palestinian territories. TCS’s partnerships with Israeli banks and ministries embed it further into Israel’s apartheid economy, ensuring that the company profits from the financial and technological systems that sustain the occupation. Despite its image as a symbol of “trust” and “ethical leadership,” Tata profits directly from violence, colonialism, and apartheid.
